Task Management

CueCapture’s core feature is seamless task management. View your Notion tasks at a glance, create new ones, and mark them complete—all without leaving your workflow.

Tasks appear in the main widget list, showing:

  • Task name - The title from Notion
  • Status indicator - Color-coded by status
  • Due date - If set, with overdue highlighting
  • Project badge - If assigned to a project
  • Priority icon - If priority is set

Click the sort dropdown to arrange tasks by:

  • Due Date - Earliest first (default)
  • Priority - Highest first
  • Created - Newest first
  • Status - Group by status
  • Manual - Custom order (drag & drop)

Use the filter bar to narrow down tasks:

  • Status: Show only specific statuses
  • Project: Filter by project
  • Due Date: Today, This Week, Overdue
  • Priority: High, Medium, Low
  1. Press N or click the + button
  2. Type your task name
  3. Press Enter to create

The task syncs to Notion immediately.

  1. Press N or click +
  2. Type your task name
  3. Press Tab to add details:
    • Due date
    • Priority
    • Project
    • Notes
  4. Press Enter to create

CueCapture understands natural language dates:

  • “Call mom tomorrow”
  • “Submit report by Friday”
  • “Meeting next Tuesday at 2pm”
  • Click a task to select it
  • Press E or double-click to edit
  • Make changes and press Enter
  • Click the expand icon (or press )
  • See and edit all task properties
  • Add notes and descriptions
  • View time tracked

Some properties can be edited inline:

  • Status: Click the status badge
  • Due Date: Click the date
  • Priority: Click the priority icon

Multiple ways to mark tasks complete:

  1. Click the checkbox/status indicator
  2. Press Enter with task selected
  3. Swipe right on touch devices
  4. Keyboard: Select task + Enter

When you complete a task:

  • Status changes to your configured “complete” status
  • Task fades out (configurable delay)
  • Syncs to Notion
  • Can be undone with Ctrl/Cmd + Z

By default, completed tasks are hidden. To show them:

  • Toggle “Show Completed” in filters
  • Or press Shift + C

Select multiple tasks for bulk operations:

  1. Hold Shift and click to select range
  2. Hold Ctrl/Cmd and click to toggle selection
  3. Press Ctrl/Cmd + A to select all visible

Available bulk actions:

  • Complete all - Mark selected as done
  • Move to project - Assign to project
  • Set priority - Change priority
  • Delete - Remove selected tasks

CueCapture supports flexible status workflows:

  • ☐ Not done
  • ☑️ Done

Configure status colors in Settings → Preferences → Status Colors.

CueCapture supports Notion subtasks (sub-items):

  • Subtasks appear indented under parent
  • Complete subtasks independently
  • Parent progress shows completion
  • Expand/collapse subtask groups

Changes sync automatically:

  • Create: Immediately
  • Edit: Within 1-2 seconds
  • Complete: Immediately
  • Delete: Immediately

CueCapture refreshes from Notion:

  • On widget focus
  • Manual refresh (Ctrl/Cmd + R)
  • Polling interval (configurable)
  • Webhook updates (if configured)

If a task is edited in both places:

  • Most recent change wins
  • CueCapture shows conflict indicator
  • View both versions in details panel

Press the global hotkey to summon the widget in “quick add” mode—type your task and press Enter without touching the mouse.

Double-click a project to enter Focus Mode:

  • Only shows that project’s tasks
  • Hides all other UI
  • Press Esc to exit

Press T to filter to today’s tasks:

  • Due today
  • Overdue
  • No due date (optional)

Create task templates in Notion and use them in CueCapture:

  1. In Notion, create a template in your database
  2. In CueCapture, press N then Tab
  3. Select your template from the dropdown
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify Notion integration is connected
  • Try manual refresh (Ctrl/Cmd + R)
  • Check Settings → Sync for errors
  • Usually caused by sync conflicts
  • Delete duplicates in Notion
  • CueCapture will sync the removal
  • Check your filters (might be hiding tasks)
  • Verify task exists in Notion
  • Check if task was recently completed
