Cloud Sync Setup
This guide walks you through setting up Cloud Sync with your CueCapture Pro subscription.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- CueCapture installed on your device
- Active Pro subscription (get one here)
- Internet connection
Setup Steps
Section titled “Setup Steps”-
Open Cloud Sync Settings
In CueCapture, go to:
- Settings (⚙️) → Cloud Sync
- Or press
Ctrl/Cmd + ,and navigate to Cloud Sync

Sign In
Click “Sign In” and choose your auth method:
- GitHub
- Email + Password
Use the same account you used for your Pro subscription.

Verify Subscription
CueCapture will verify your subscription status:
- ✅ Active - You’re good to go!
- ⚠️ Not Found - Check you’re signed into the right account
- ❌ Expired - Renew your subscription

Enable Cloud Sync
Toggle “Enable Cloud Sync” to ON.
Your current settings will be encrypted and uploaded.

Wait for Initial Sync
First sync may take 10-30 seconds depending on settings complexity.
Status shows “Synced” when complete.
Setting Up Additional Devices
Section titled “Setting Up Additional Devices”-
Install CueCapture
Download and install CueCapture on your other device.

Sign In
Go to Settings → Cloud Sync → Sign In
Use the same account as your first device.

Choose Sync Direction
CueCapture will ask:
- “Download cloud settings” - Recommended for new devices
- “Upload local settings” - If this device has settings you want to keep
- “Merge” - Combine both (may cause conflicts)

Complete Setup
Settings sync from cloud. Your second device is now configured!
Managing Sync
Section titled “Managing Sync”Sync Status
Section titled “Sync Status”Check current status in Settings → Cloud Sync:
- Last synced: Timestamp of last successful sync
- Status: Synced, Syncing, Pending, Error
- Account: Which account you’re signed into
Manual Sync
Section titled “Manual Sync”Force a sync anytime:
- Click “Sync Now” button
- Or press
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + S
Pause Sync
Section titled “Pause Sync”Temporarily pause syncing:
- Go to Settings → Cloud Sync
- Toggle “Enable Cloud Sync” OFF
- Local changes won’t upload
- Toggle back ON to resume
Security Settings
Section titled “Security Settings”View Encryption Status
Section titled “View Encryption Status”Settings → Cloud Sync → Security shows:
- Encryption key status
- Last key rotation
- Device list
Change Encryption Key
Section titled “Change Encryption Key”For extra security, rotate your encryption key:
- Settings → Cloud Sync → Security
- Click “Rotate Encryption Key”
- All devices will re-sync with new key
View Connected Devices
Section titled “View Connected Devices”See all devices using your account:
- Settings → Cloud Sync → Devices
- View device names and last sync time
- Remove devices you don’t recognize
Remove a Device
Section titled “Remove a Device”To revoke sync access from a device:
- Go to Settings → Cloud Sync → Devices
- Click the device to remove
- Click “Remove Device”
- Device can no longer sync
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting””Subscription not found”
Section titled “”Subscription not found””- Verify you’re signed into the correct account
- Check subscription status at polar.sh/cuecapture/portal
- Try signing out and back in
- Contact support if issue persists
Settings not syncing
Section titled “Settings not syncing”- Check internet connection
- Click “Sync Now”
- Check for error messages
- Try signing out and back in
- Check if sync is paused
Wrong settings appeared
Section titled “Wrong settings appeared”If incorrect settings synced:
- Check which device uploaded last
- Use “Sync Now” on device with correct settings
- Or restore from local backup: Settings → Data → Restore
Conflict errors
Section titled “Conflict errors”When same setting changed on multiple devices:
- CueCapture shows conflict dialog
- Choose which version to keep
- Or resolve manually in settings
Data Management
Section titled “Data Management”Export Settings
Section titled “Export Settings”Create a local backup:
- Settings → Data → Export
- Click “Export Settings”
- Save the JSON file
Delete Cloud Data
Section titled “Delete Cloud Data”Remove all data from our servers:
- Settings → Cloud Sync → Data
- Click “Delete Cloud Data”
- Confirm deletion
- Local settings remain
Sign Out
Section titled “Sign Out”Remove account from this device:
- Settings → Cloud Sync
- Click “Sign Out”
- Local settings remain
- Cloud sync disabled
