Quick Start

This guide will get you from zero to productivity in about 5 minutes. We’ll connect CueCapture to your Notion workspace and have your tasks displayed in the widget.

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • CueCapture installed (Installation guide)
  • A Notion account with a tasks database
  • Your Notion workspace connected to the internet
  1. Launch CueCapture

Open CueCapture. On first launch, you’ll see the setup wizard. If you’ve already launched it before, click the gear icon (⚙️) to open settings.

  2. Create a Notion Integration

Go to notion.so/my-integrations and create a new integration:

    • Click ”+ New integration”
    • Name it something like “CueCapture”
    • Select your workspace
    • Click “Submit”
    • Copy the “Internal Integration Secret” (starts with ntn_ or secret_)
  3. Enter Your API Key

Paste the integration secret into CueCapture’s Notion API Key field. CueCapture will verify the connection.

  4. Share Your Database with the Integration

In Notion, open your tasks database:

    • Click the ”…” menu in the top right
    • Select “Connections” (or “Add connections”)
    • Find and select your integration (e.g., “CueCapture”)
    • Click “Confirm”
  5. Enter Your Database URL

Copy the URL of your tasks database from your browser and paste it into CueCapture. The URL looks like:

    https://notion.so/workspace/abc123...

CueCapture will extract the database ID automatically.

  6. Map Your Properties

CueCapture will read your database schema and ask you to map properties:

    • Task Name: Usually “Name” or “Title” (title property)
    • Status: Your status/checkbox property
    • Due Date: Your date property (optional)
  7. Import Your Tasks

Click “Import Tasks” to sync your existing tasks. This may take a moment depending on how many tasks you have.

  8. Done! 🎉

Your tasks now appear in the widget. Try clicking one to mark it complete!

Now that you’re set up, here’s how to use the widget:
