FAQ

CueCapture is a desktop widget application that connects to your Notion workspace and displays your tasks in a floating, always-accessible widget. It’s designed to give you quick access to your tasks without switching between apps.

Yes! CueCapture’s core features are completely free:

  • Full Notion sync
  • Task management
  • Time tracking
  • Projects
  • Eisenhower Matrix
  • Voice assistant

Pro features (Cloud Sync, priority support) require a subscription, but the app is fully functional without paying.

CueCapture is available for:

  • Windows 10 and later (64-bit)
  • macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and later

Mobile apps are not currently available.

Yes! CueCapture is open source. You can view the code, contribute, or fork it on GitHub.

No. CueCapture connects directly to Notion using their official API. Your tasks stay in Notion—we just display them in the widget. We never store your tasks on our servers.

Yes. Your API key is:

  • Stored securely in your system’s credential manager (Windows) or Keychain (macOS)
  • Never sent to CueCapture servers
  • Only used to communicate directly with Notion

Can CueCapture access my entire Notion workspace?

Section titled “Can CueCapture access my entire Notion workspace?”

No. CueCapture can only access databases you explicitly share with its integration. You control exactly what CueCapture can see.

Nothing! All your tasks remain in Notion exactly where they were. CueCapture doesn’t modify your data structure—it just reads and writes to your existing databases.

Partially. You can:

  • View cached tasks offline
  • Create tasks (they sync when online)
  • Use time tracking locally

Full sync requires an internet connection.

Can I use CueCapture with multiple Notion workspaces?

Section titled “Can I use CueCapture with multiple Notion workspaces?”

Currently, CueCapture connects to one workspace at a time. You can switch workspaces in settings, but can’t view multiple simultaneously.

Yes, if your Notion database uses subtasks (sub-items). CueCapture displays them indented under their parent task.

Absolutely! CueCapture reads your database’s status options and lets you configure which ones mean “complete.”

Does time tracking work without a Notion database?

Section titled “Does time tracking work without a Notion database?”

Yes. Time logs can be stored locally. Connecting a Time Logs database just syncs them to Notion.

The free version includes all core features, so you can fully evaluate CueCapture. Pro adds cloud sync for multi-device users.

  1. Go to your customer portal
  2. Click “Manage Subscription”
  3. Select “Cancel”

You’ll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.

Yes:

  • Subscriptions: 14-day refund, no questions asked

Contact support to request a refund.

Yes! Pay once, use forever. Includes all future updates and features. Your license never expires.

Cloud Sync syncs your CueCapture settings:

  • Theme and preferences
  • Database connections
  • Feature configurations
  • Custom shortcuts

It does NOT sync your Notion data—that stays in Notion.

Yes. All synced data is end-to-end encrypted:

  • Encrypted on your device before upload
  • Only you can decrypt it
  • We cannot read your synced settings

What happens to my synced data if I cancel?

Section titled “What happens to my synced data if I cancel?”

Your cloud data is kept for 30 days after cancellation. After that, it’s permanently deleted. Local settings are never affected.

Minimal data:

  • Anonymous analytics: App usage patterns (can be disabled)
  • Pro users: Account info for subscription management

We never collect:

  • Your task content
  • Your Notion data
  • Personal information

No. Never. We don’t sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.

For Pro features:

  • Authentication: Convex (US-based)
  • Payments: Polar.sh (EU-based)
  • Settings sync: Encrypted, stored securely

Free features don’t use our servers—they connect directly to Notion.

CueCapture isn’t signed with an expensive code signing certificate. The warning is normal for indie software. The app is open source and safe—you can verify the code yourself.

Try:

  1. Enabling “Exclude completed tasks”
  2. Reducing sync frequency
  3. Restarting the app periodically

Large databases (1000+ tasks) use more memory.

Can I use CueCapture on multiple monitors?

Section titled “Can I use CueCapture on multiple monitors?”

Yes! Position the widget on any monitor. It remembers its position.

Optional. Enable “Start at login” in Settings → Preferences.
