  • Changes in Notion don’t appear in CueCapture

Solutions:

  1. Manual refresh: Press Ctrl/Cmd + R
  2. Check sync status: Look for error icons
  3. Verify permissions: Integration needs read/write access
  4. Check filters: Your filter might be hiding tasks

Possible causes:

  • Large database (1000+ tasks)
  • Slow internet connection
  • Many concurrent changes

Solutions:

  • Increase sync interval in Settings → Sync
  • Archive completed tasks in Notion
  • Use filters to reduce loaded tasks

Solutions:

  1. Check system tray for CueCapture icon
  2. Try the global shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Space
  3. Check if another app is blocking the window
  4. Restart CueCapture

If the widget moved off your visible screen:

  1. Open Settings → Preferences → Widget
  2. Click “Reset Position”
  3. Widget returns to center of main screen

Or press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R to reset position.

  1. Settings → Preferences → Widget → Size
  2. Adjust width and height
  3. Or drag widget edges to resize
  1. Check for conflicts: Another app may use the same shortcut
  2. Verify shortcut: Settings → Shortcuts
  3. Try different shortcut: Customize if needed
  4. Restart CueCapture: To re-register shortcuts

Solutions:

  1. Ensure Time Logs database is connected
  2. Check property mappings in settings
  3. Verify you clicked “Stop” not “Discard”
  4. Check for sync errors

Possible causes:

  • Timezone mismatch
  • Timer was paused
  • Manual edit error

Solutions:

  1. Check timezone settings on your computer
  2. Edit the time log to correct duration
  3. Verify start and end times
  1. Verify Time Logs database is connected
  2. Check all required properties are mapped
  3. Ensure “Include time” is enabled on date properties
  4. Try manual sync
  1. Check permissions

    • Windows: Settings → Privacy → Microphone
    • macOS: System Preferences → Security → Microphone
  2. Select correct microphone

    • Settings → Voice Assistant → Microphone
    • Choose your microphone from dropdown
    • Test with “Test” button
  3. Try different speech mode

    • Browser Speech, Whisper, or Deepgram
    • Some work better with certain mics

Solutions:

  1. Speak closer to microphone
  2. Reduce background noise
  3. Try Whisper or Deepgram mode (more accurate)
  4. Speak at normal pace (not too fast)
  • Commands work best with Whisper or Deepgram
  • Try explicit phrasing: “Add task…”
  • Check Settings → Voice Assistant → Commands

Solutions:

  1. Reduce loaded tasks

    • Enable “Exclude completed tasks”
    • Use filters to load fewer tasks
  2. Check memory usage

    • Restart CueCapture periodically
  3. Disable unused features

    • Turn off features you don’t use
    • Reduces background processing

Possible causes:

  • Continuous sync issues
  • Voice always-listening mode
  • Large database processing

Solutions:

  1. Increase sync interval
  2. Disable auto-listen mode
  3. Archive old tasks in Notion
  4. Restart CueCapture

Solutions:

  1. Reduce initial task load (use filters)
  2. Disable “Show completed tasks” by default
  3. Check if antivirus is scanning the app
  4. Ensure SSD (not HDD) if possible
  1. Verify subscription is active
  2. Check you’re signed into correct account
  3. Click “Sync Now” to force sync
  4. Check internet connection
  5. Sign out and back in
  1. Ensure same account on both devices
  2. Wait for sync to complete (may take 30 seconds)
  3. Try “Sync Now” on both devices
  4. Check for sync errors in settings

When settings conflict between devices:

  1. CueCapture shows conflict dialog
  2. Choose which version to keep
  3. Or: sync the device with correct settings first

This is normal for unsigned apps:

  1. Click “More info”
  2. Click “Run anyway”
  3. App is safe and open source
  1. Right-click the app
  2. Select “Open”
  3. Click “Open” in the dialog
  4. Only needed once
  1. Download latest version manually from GitHub
  2. Install over existing version
  3. Settings are preserved

Causes:

  • Sync conflict
  • Database restored from backup
  • Multiple imports

Solutions:

  1. Delete duplicates in Notion
  2. CueCapture will sync deletions
  3. Avoid importing while syncing

Check:

  1. Filter settings (may be hiding tasks)
  2. Task exists in Notion
  3. Database is shared with integration
  4. Task wasn’t recently completed

If settings disappeared:

  1. Check if you signed out of cloud sync
  2. Restore from backup: Settings → Data → Restore
  3. Re-configure if needed

CueCapture logs errors for debugging:

  • Settings → About → “View Logs”
  • Logs show recent errors and sync activity

As a last resort, reset to defaults:

  1. Settings → Data → “Reset All Settings”
  2. You’ll need to reconfigure Notion connection
  3. Cloud sync settings preserved (if signed in)

If you can’t resolve the issue:

  1. Settings → About → “Report Bug”
  2. Include steps to reproduce
  3. Attach logs if possible
